Our Week: May 20-24, 2019

It’s been a busy week here at Workman Communications!

  • We returned to an ongoing project of ours which is a condominium complex in Citrus Heights called Coventry Square! We installed multiple Speco 2mp Dome IP Cameras across the complex, a 16 channel NVR 4k with POE, and a few Ubiquiti PTP units. These Ubiquitis connects multiple locations, essentially forming an Ethernet bridge. This allows the cameras to get online and communicate with the NVR to view the feed remotely.
  • Next, we paid a visit to a repeat commercial customer of ours to troubleshoot their cabling and router. We found that their internet landlines weren’t working. This was due to the Netgear router needing its DHCP to be turned on. We fixed it, and problem solved!
  • Meanwhile, our other team completed a CAT5e install for a residential home in Rancho Cordova. We Re-terminated walls to CAT5e standards, punched down existing CAT5e in to their smart panel and installed a CAT5e patch panel. Now the customer is able to use his new data ports for his home office and game room!
  • Our CCTV crew was busy installing (8) Speco cameras for a new customer of ours! This is a residential home located in Elk Grove, CA! This Speco system allows the customer to review any footage remotely by connecting it to his home internet service. This system also includes (8) 5MP turret cameras, which gives him super high definition that record class-leading 5-megapixel images with enhanced camera sensors.
  • And today, we finish off our week with our monthly meeting, as well as, BICSI training courses in our conference room. On the schedule today for our Technicians training is: Turning Technicians into Project Managers, Pathways for Cabling Infrastructure, and Fiber Trends and Analysis of Connectivity Solutions. These webinars will give us a few CE Credits to gain more credentials through BISCI and update our techs on new technology, strategies and trends!
  • On another note- today our Office Admin, Liz, is 20 weeks pregnant! Her baby girl is growing rapidly at 6.5″ long! This is approximately the size of a Speco Bullet Camera. The camera pictured is a HD-TVI 1080p Outdoor IR Bullet Camera, with a 3.6mm Lens. Follow Lizs ‘low voltage’ baby bump photos here –> https://www.facebook.com/Workman-Communications-485695335724/
